We recently rolled out an all new redesigned version of the Locusic site!
Here’s a rundown of just some of the changes…
General Look & Layout
The whole look of the site has been refreshed. It now has what we call in the tech world, a Responsive Layout. That means it looks good on any screen of any size or shape (including tablets and mobile phones). As you change your browser window size, the components will re-size and re-flow to accommodate the new window size.
In the left of the header is a menu button. When you click it, you get the list of available actions you can take. That includes Player Settings (to change the location and/or genre your’re listening to), Artist List (to see the list of Artists that have music on Locusic), Account Settings (to update your profile, upload songs, etc.), …
Player Settings is the default page after you log in. It shows your location options (home and current) and the list of genres available at those locations. The genre list and number of songs for each one updates when you change your selected location. The first item in the Menu (shown above) takes you to the Player Settings. When music is playing, the Player Settings is available by clicking the gear/settings button in the updated player controls.
When music is playing, the Artist’s image now fills the screen. Depending on your screen size/shape and the size and aspect ratio of the artist’s profile image, it may pan back and forth so you can see the whole contents.
When a song is playing, the track info is now given in the space at the bottom of the screen. Also, it now includes a progress bar and track duration. Clicking the “More info” link brings up the Artist’s bio information. Depending on the size and shape of the screen, if in landscape mode, the Track Information section may move over to the right of the screen instead (see some of the screenshots below).
The rating buttons (thumbs up/down) are now located along with the other track information.
Here’s a bunch more random screenshots – just for kicks…
